What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. It is trustworthy, true, and our foundation for faith, life, and discipleship.

Every word of Scripture was breathed out by God through human authors, which means it carries His authority, not just good advice or ancient tradition. We treat it as fully reliable in everything it addresses, from who God is to how we're meant to live.

Scripture shapes how we live, love, lead, and follow Jesus. We don't come to the Bible looking for support for opinions we already hold; we come to be shaped, corrected, and formed by it, even when that's uncomfortable.

We believe there is one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

This is a mystery we can't fully explain, but it's the consistent witness of Scripture from beginning to end. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are distinct in person yet undivided in nature, each fully God.

God is holy, loving, just, merciful, and actively involved in His creation. He isn't distant or disinterested; He's near, He knows us, and He's at work in the world and in our lives right now.

We believe Jesus is the Son of God, fully God and fully man.

He didn't stop being God to become human, and He wasn't a human who was simply elevated to divine status. Jesus is both, fully, at the same time, which is why He alone could stand in our place.

Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, and offers forgiveness, salvation, and new life to all who trust in Him.

Jesus is the center of everything we do. Our worship, our teaching, our community life, all of it points back to Him. He's not one part of our faith; He's the whole point of it.

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in Jesus Christ — not earned through good works or religion.

There's nothing we can do to make ourselves right with God on our own merit, and there's nothing we need to add to what Jesus already accomplished on the cross. Salvation is received, not achieved.

Through Jesus, people are forgiven, restored, adopted into God’s family, and given eternal life. This isn't just a future promise; it changes how we see ourselves and how we live today.

We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every believer, empowering us to follow Jesus, grow in holiness, serve others, and live on mission.

The moment someone trusts in Jesus, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in them. He's not a force or a feeling; He's God present with us, teaching us, convicting us, and giving us the strength to actually live out what we believe.

We believe the Holy Spirit still moves today with power, wisdom, conviction, healing, guidance, and spiritual gifts — always grounded in Scripture and centered on Jesus. We expect Him to be active, not just theoretical.

We believe the Church is the body of Christ and exists to worship God, make disciples, love people, and bring the hope of Jesus to the world.

The church is not just a building or service — it is a community of people living life together. You can attend a service and still miss what the church actually is; it's meant to be experienced in relationship, not just observed from a seat.

At The Well, we desire for every person to have someone pouring into them spiritually while they also pour into someone else. We believe life-on-life discipleship is one of the primary ways God transforms people. Growth rarely happens in isolation; it happens shoulder to shoulder with other people.

We believe following Jesus is a lifelong journey of transformation.

Nobody arrives. Discipleship isn't a class you complete or a milestone you hit; it's the ongoing, sometimes slow process of becoming more like Jesus over the course of an entire life.

Discipleship happens through:

• Intentional relationships

We believe life change happens best through authentic, relational discipleship — people investing in people. Programs can inform you; relationships are usually what actually change you.

We believe every follower of Jesus is called to live on mission in everyday life.

Mission isn't reserved for pastors or missionaries overseas; it's for every person who follows Jesus, wherever they work, live, and spend their time. Your neighborhood, your job, and your everyday relationships are your mission field.

We are committed to being:

We exist to help people:

• encounter Jesus,

• and live out the gospel together in everyday life.

We believe doctrine matters deeply, and we hold firmly to the core truths of the Christian faith.

At the same time, we approach secondary theological issues with humility, grace, and love. Christians who agree on the essentials can, and often do, disagree on secondary matters, and we don't think that disqualifies genuine unity or friendship.

We major on:

We believe Jesus will return again and make all things new.

History is not an endless cycle heading nowhere; it's moving toward a real, promised return of Jesus, when He will finish what He started and set every wrong thing right.

Our hope is ultimately found in Him and His coming kingdom. That hope shapes how we face suffering, how we hold on to this life loosely, and why we can keep going even when things are hard right now.
