The Short Version

Hey there, we're Jermaine and Tammy

We've been doing life together for twenty-six years now, and ministry has been part of that story from very early on. We love gathering around the table, cheering on our kids in whatever they're chasing, and opening our home to whoever wants to pull up a chair.

Neither of us set out to plant a church in Frederick. But over two decades of youth ministry, teaching, leading teams, and helping churches find new life, we kept sensing God was building toward something. The Well is where that road led us.

Frederick has become home. We're not here to build something and move on. We're here to stay, put down roots, and do life with this city.

How We Got Here

The Road to The Well

It wasn't a straight line, and it wasn't quick. Here's the short version of the road that brought us to Frederick.

Over 20 Years

A Long Season of Ministry

Youth ministry, teaching pastor roles, campus leadership, and helping churches find new life. Every season taught us something we'd need later.

Called To Plant

Saying Yes to Something New

After years of building in other people's houses, we felt God stirring us toward something we'd help build from the ground up.

Trained & Coached

Partnering with Converge

We joined Converge MidAtlantic's church planting cohort and started working with our coach to turn the calling into a plan.

Landing Point

Choosing Frederick

Frederick kept coming back to us: a growing city, full of people looking for something real. We knew this was it.

Gathering Begins

First Sundays Together

We started gathering at North Frederick Elementary: worshiping, opening Scripture, and building real community before we ever had a launch date.

Home Team

Our Family

We're parents to three grown kids who are out chasing their own callings these days: one finishing school in Toronto, one starting her first teaching job in Phoenix, and one playing college and USL2 soccer. The house is quieter now, but our table is never empty for long.

Watching them grow up and go do brave things of their own is part of what convinced us we still have plenty of life left to give away here in Frederick.

Why We're Doing This

Calling Over Comfort

"We'd rather take the harder, obedient path than the easier, familiar one."

Planting a church later in ministry wasn't the safe or expected move. But we've watched enough people settle for comfortable to know it's not what we want for our own lives, or for this city.

Frederick needs a place where people who've been hurt by church, or never really felt at home in one, can come meet Jesus without pretending. That's the church we're building, together with you.
